Just got off the phone with Darton Sleeves. Looks like another 1 1/2 more weeks until I get my block back. It’s taking so long due to SEMA back in the beginning of the month and due to the recent holiday. So it looks like I’m still playing the waiting game.
In the mean time, I been thinking going with ITB’s once my engine is finished. So I’ve been thinking of going this route:
I believe the ITB’s in these pictures came from a Hayabusa, I can be wrong, but regardless I am very intrigued to build my own ITB’s. I have a lot of thinking to do. Stay tuned..
So I sent my block out to Darton on Tuesday, and John at Darton notified me and said my block made it safely to Darton Sleeves. He told me it should take 10-15 days to install and ship back. So once again, another waiting game. I will keep yall posted.
I took my block to get hot tanked on Thursday and got it back yesterday. I also got the piston rods shoot peened and had ARP bolts installed.
I replaced my CV boot and also had a valve adjustment done. I can say the motor is feeling more “healthy.” I’ve been lagging on getting my bottom block hot tanked but IT WILL happen sometime this month. And once that’s done I will send it to Darton for them to install the sleeves. I also put my old 13’s back on. I got tired of the mesh look and needed to see something new that I haven’t seen in awhile.

it’s a rainy day today so I decided to do some inspections under my car, and I found this…
This isn’t the first time my CV boot ripped, but to add on top of that I been hearing clicking noises coming from that side when I turn at certain angles.. Maybe its time to replace my axles?
My brother and I took a trip to Ione, CA today to visit Preston Castle. It once served as a reform school for juvenile delinquents back in the late 1800’s. If you ever watched the TV show called Ghost Adventures, they did a episode about the castle. Unfortunately it wasn’t open today but I plan on going when it’s open to take the tour..
We pulled in front of the new juvenile facility and I snapped this quick photo:
Pulling into the surrounding neighborhood, there’s some old houses that are no longer in use and boarded up, here’s one:
The old gate keeper?
Preston School of Industry opened 1894
It was really hard getting some close pictures due to the lack of space around the castle because it was mostly fenced off
and of course the roads around the castle are horrible..
