What’s scarier than

Monsters and ghosts? Your own mind and desires. It can be heard here:

The struggle between spiritual/religious beliefs and sexuality is real. Ever fought off your own desires to the point where it drove you insane? It doesn’t have to be sexual desires you fought off, but sexual desire is a strong force. Fighting it will make you scream to the heavens and recite spiritual/religious chants… And giving in is like giving in to Satan himself/herself…

As Keanu Reeves character on Constantine once said “Angels and Demons can’t cross over into our plane. So, instead we get what I call half-breeds. The influence peddlers. They can only whisper in our ears. A single word can give you courage, or turn your favorite pleasure into your worst nightmare.”

Without our own personal internal laws, rites, as well as spiritual connections, we are impulsive beings. Impulse purchasing, impulse killing, etc. Without those laws, most of us will turn into devil’s… People will eat people. Meditate on that.

Osak-October Thoughts

Us PVT Runners have a holiday every year. It’s October, the whole fuckin month. A time of the year where Friday the 13th would pop up on TV along with other horror movies due to Halloween. The hockey mask used in the franchise didn’t appear until Friday the 13th III in 1982. By 1983 it was released in Japan.

Yuh
Around that year, many kanjozoku groups formed.
Makes you wonder when the mask was first introduced to hide the kanjozoku’s identity…

The change of the season is enchanting for me. As if the month was waiting for PVT… Waiting for a mischievous offering. Almost like a changeling waking up and finding trolls and goblins to guide her to new life. Perhaps we are all changelings placed here on earth. An offering from another realm.

The transfer over from a young individual, into the world of car culture is the same feeling. You feel like a changeling; you meet new people, friends, families and even rivals. It is a whole new universe. Just like when Kazuhiro entered the world of kanjo culture when he was younger… With that being said I will end this post with this:

[The writing on the hood]

Didn’t Realize

With this last stretch of summer heat left, it made me consider the following topic (sidenote, I remember by this time of the year as a kid, it was already cooler… Even cold. But anyway…). I didn’t realize how much this intake set up is slept on. Honda engineers of that era designed it to comply with the economy and at peak performance, as if they knew they were going to drive the Civic chassis in N1.

But outside of N1 regulations, some still rock the oem air box simply because it works, some even remove the filter completely.

I spoke to Brush Up Osaka and I was told that when their EG6 still had a B swap, they were using the OEM Honda filters in the air box 🤯

At various track events drivers will opt for the this setup. It’s as if it’s a homage to the N1 days, showing that “yeah I have the OEM air box and I’m passing you on the track” mentality. People will even put their own twist to it by adding a metal intake arm and/or wrapping the air box in heat reflective tape. You’ll even see it on cars that run the kanjo.

Joe’s EF (@carmakeacross) has a built B18C with Jun camshafts making 230hp. While utilizing the OEM intake arm and box.

Mugen and Comptech/CT Engineering iceboxes are essentially fancier air boxes.

At one point, the Real Time Racing DC2 ran a NSX air box.

Don’t knock it if it works. This set up isn’t for everyone, especially if your motor is built for high horsepower. But at the end of the day, give the car what it wants, not what you want. ✌️🙏
